The presentation for the Olivia Palermo x Banana Republic collection attracted a group of anti-fur protestors. Though the collection does not use any real or faux fur, the protestors meant to target Palermo’s personal use of fur products.

Saturday’s see now, buy now for Palermo’s first collection for the retail chain was shown outside the brand’s Fifth Avenue and 18th Street store. Models stood on podiums wearing looks from the line when protestors arrived at the event.

The anti-fur protestors came from Animal Defenders International, the same group that targeted Michael Kors during his appearance at the Met in June. Upon the protestors’ arrival, security guards moved the models inside the Banana Republic store. Customers were able to continue a planned meet and greet with Palermo inside the store. According to the brand, the protestors were removed from the event and no one was harmed.

The limited-edition Olivia Palermo x Banana Republic collection is available at Banana Republic stores and online. The line includes 70 pieces, with prices starting at $48 for accessories, and most items retailing for around $100. Palermo also included a few higher-priced items, such as a $598 pair of leather pants and a snakeskin trench coat for $998.
