During Isabel Marant's Spring/Summer 2018 runway show in Paris last week, the brand’s first menswear collection was presented. In total, eight models hit the runway to the sound of beating drums, including star models Kaia Gerber and Gigi Hadid.

The women's brand’s first menswear collection, which is decisively sportswear and 90's, has been entrusted to designer Barnabé Hardy who announced the news of his arrival at Isabel Marant on his Instagram.

The former Carven creative director (for menswear) succeeded Guillaume Henry in January 2015 before being thanked for the company’s restructuring one year later. He was first a longtime collaborator of Nicolas Ghesquière (at Callaghan and then Balenciaga) and launched in 2001 a line of sweatshirts before taking an interest in leather under his own name.

He joins the Isabel Marant team with the launch of the first men's capsule collection, which is expected to expand in coming seasons.

This marks a new stage in the development of the Isabel Marant brand, now under the control of French investment fund Montefiore (which holds 51% of the equity capital since July 2016) and whose current turnover is estimated at over 150 million euros.
