The US star plays alongside Geraldine Chaplin in the film, which was shot in Paris. The two women play the roles of actresses preparing to star in a film as Gabrielle Chanel at different ages. Additional cast members include Jérémie Elkaïm, François Marthouret, Amanda Harlech, Jamie Bochert, Jake Davies, Baptiste Giabiconi and Laura Brown.

The movie takes place behind the scenes of a film production, portraying costume tests, script meetings and screen tests. "If I had made image after image of Chanel's past, it would be boring," explains Lagerfeld.

Geraldine Chaplin has embodied Gabrielle Chanel in the designer's films four times, but this is the first time Kristen Stewart has slipped into the skin of the iconic character. "She can look like Chanel, and I wanted to show Chanel through all the decades of her life and the comeback in the 1950s," declares Lagerfeld.

The film will be unveiled in Rome on December 1, at the opening of the Chanel Métiers d'art collection. The Paris-Rome 2015/16 collection will be shown at Cinecittà, the legendary film studio complex located in Rome. A trailer will be unveiled on November 25.

It is the latest high-profile campaign Stewart has headed up in her position as muse for the brand, following her role as the 'face' of the 11.12 handbag campaign in March 2015 and the Spring-Summer 2015 Eyewear collection.
