Mara & Mine x Candice Swanepoel release sustainable collection

Candice Swanepoel will be using her famous name and bohemian style for a good cause. The Victoria’s Secret angel has collaborated with shoe brand Mara & Mine on a capsule collection of vegan footwear. The proceeds will benefit Mothers2mothers, a charity dedicated to eliminating pediatric AIDS and helping families in sub–Saharan Africa.

The capsule collection takes its inspiration from Swanepoel’s love of the beach and bohemian styles. Styles include gladiators, slides and wraparound sandals, and many shoes are embellished with crotched or shell detailing. All of the pieces are flat sandals crafted with vegan leather.

Mara & Mine was founded by Australian designers Tamara Ingham and Jasmine Yarbrough, and launched its debut collection in 2013. Fans of their line include models and actresses like Cara Delevingne, Chanel Iman and Margot Robbie. Based in Los Angeles, the brand focuses on casual, but stylish shoes for modern women.

The brand’s collaboration with the South African supermodel will launch on May 6. Shoes from the Candice Swanepeol collection start at $200 a pair.

The Mothers2mothers organization has worked to end pediatric AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa since 2001. Proceeds from the Mara & Mine and Candice Swanepoel capsule collection will benefit the charity, which has reached nearly 1.5 million HIV-positive mothers and their children across nine African countries.
