Pep&Co may be gearing up for major UK and Ireland expansion as it opens in more Poundland stores, but once they’re open, it will be forging ahead without its current managing director and trading director.

The two key executives are to quit in the months ahead with MD Adrian Mountford set to leave in May. He’s been in charge at the growing firm since 2014.

Trading direct Cathy Haydon is also leaving after a four-year tenure with the value-priced fashion company.

The company is about to open corners in 150 Poundland stores with the duo staying to oversee that expansion which will see it offering fashion items priced from £10 up to a maximum of £10.

“It goes without saying we’ll miss them both, but I also know we’ll continue to grow as we become a fashion retailer and not skip a beat,” Pep&Co’s chief operating officer Sean Cardinaal said.

It’s unknown where they will work next but they both have strong CVs. Mountford was commercial director at Matalan before joining the Steinhoff-controlled company and had also held senior roles at Sainsbury’s and BHS.

Haydon had been M&S’s head of merchandising as well as being in charge of clothing at Tesco and being merchandise director at BHS.
