The company first announced in July that it would move its headquarters in order to simplify its North American operations.

Designed by US design and architecture collective Studio 1200, the new office spans a total of 55,000 square feet over two floors and features a customer showroom, product workrooms, conference rooms and a meeting space.

In addition, the new Secaucus office is only five miles from New York City and will work as one team with the New York Fifth Avenue Global Design Studio and Showroom.

“This inauguration marks a milestone in Safilo’s 55 year U.S. history of eyewear product and design leadership through enduring successful partnerships with Eye Care Professionals and retail partners,” said Safilo Group CEO Luisa Delgado.

“In the context of today’s industry changes, Safilo is taking the leadership role of the Independent Alternative Partner of Trust, who stands for freedom of choice, transparency of terms and supply chain, quality of distribution and customer care, powered by innovation."

To celebrate the opening, Safilo showcased its newest projects to over 200 guests, including company employees, its Board of Directors, key customers, members of The Vision Council Industry Association, guests from the Special Olympics and the Italian Trade Commission.

Among the new projects were new collections from Safilo, Moschino, Rag & Bone, the Smith Lowdown Focus, the brainwave sensing smart glasses built on the SafiloX eyewear platform, eyewear designed by talent from Parsons, and the company’s capsule collaboration with Harper’s Bazaar 'First in Fashion — First in Eyewear'.

Delgado added, “We thank our partners for the positive engagement in our renewed commercial proposition and terms, and will proceed with our combination of innovative brand, communication and omnichannel offerings, while continuing to invest in our talent and capabilities in the USA, including the recently established global Sales Delivery department devoted to the U.S.”

Safilo first touched down in the US in 1962 and currently operates four additional US locations, including its recently established Pacific Design Studio in Portland, a goggles manufacturing site and Rx-Lab in Salt Lake City, a distribution center in Denver, and a showroom in Miami, as well as an office in Latin America and a Canadian commercial organization in Montreal.

The Italian eyewear company has a wholly owned distribution network in 38 countries and a portfolio that includes brands Carrera, Polaroid, Dior, Fendi, Céline, Fossil, Givenchy, Havaianas, Marc Jacobs, Pierre Cardin, Saks Fifth Avenue, Swatch, and Tommy Hilfiger.
