Schneider will stay with the company through February 2010, and Chief Operating Officer David Weinberg will take up the added responsibilities of CFO, a position he held from 1994 to 2006, Skechers said in a statement.

"Fred has made significant contributions to Skechers, and most notable was his recent leadership and hard work in securing our $250 million, syndicated credit facility," the COO said in a statement.

Shares of the Manhattan Beach, California-based company had closed at $18.51 Tuesday 8 September on the New York Stock Exchange.
