In his new position, Poletto will be responsible for all aspects of Stuart Weitzman globally, reporting to Tapestry CEO Victor Luis. He will also work closely with Stuart Weitzman’s Creative Director Giovanni Morelli.

Poletto has some thirty years of experience in the luxury and retail sectors, having most recently served as CEO of Salvatore Ferragamo. Prior to this he was CEO at Furla from 2010 to 2016, where he played an important role in developing the brand into a global company.

Before 2016, Poletto spent 13 years at Brooks Brothers parent company Retail Brand Alliance, Inc., rising through a number of different leadership roles, including president of strategic development & international business and chief merchandising officer.

The University of Turin graduate cut his teeth in the fashion industry at Italian apparel company Miroglio and also holds a Masters in Fashion, Retail and Textile Management from ISTAO, Istituto Adriano Olivetti in Ancona.

Commenting on the appointment in a release, Victor Luis explained that “Stuart Weitzman is at [an] important point in the brand’s evolution with the upcoming launch of Giovanni’s first collection and the recent buyback of its Northern China business, taking greater control of the brand’s destiny through an increased level of direct ownership,” going on to praise Poletto’s “successful track record in building and engaging teams and in developing and maximizing international growth across all fashion categories.”

“Stuart Weitzman footwear has long represented quality, style, and the beautiful combination of form and fit,” said Poletto. “I look forward to working with the team to build on this foundation as we evolve into a global, multi-category brand.”

Poletto is expected to join the company on April 30, 2018.
