Viktor & Rolf - Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2014 Show in Paris (with itw)

At the Espace Vendôme in Paris, Viktor&Rolf closes this week of Spring/Summer 2014 Haute Couture collections on tiptoe. The curtains open to reveal an apparition of ballerinas, surprising everybody. The show features dancers from the Netherlands National Opera dressed in little figure-skimming, latex dresses, imprinted with the outlines of birds, bows and butterflies.Interview:Viktor Horsting:This is the National Ballet from the Netherlands so they are the best dancers we have.Rolf Snoeren:Couture is the most elevated form of fashion so it was very appropriate for them to all be on point and literally be elevated. We went for something very poetic, feminine and soft but also with a modern edge and that is why we chose latex. Everything was done in latex so you have this mix of femininity, fluidity and the surrealism of the material and the surrealism of the decorations; all of the decorations are done by hand, resembling tattoos. They are all hand-painted.Music from the show
