The Swedish fashion label has opened its first San Francisco store. The design of the new space takes its inspiration from the California city’s iconic Golden Gate Bridge.

Acne Studio’s first store in Northern California is located near San Francisco’s Union Square at 18-24 Geary Street. This is the Stockholm-based brand’s second store in California, the first being a flagship store located in Los Angeles.

Inspired by San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, the Geary Street store has an industrial style, complete with steel pillars. Both the pillars and the store’s ceiling are painted in the same iconic orange hue as the bridge, “International Orange.” The new store also features a concrete floor and, in an unusual look for San Francisco, a red brick exterior.

With the opening of the San Francisco outpost, Acne Studios now has six stores total in the United States, including four in New York City. Acne Studios was founded in Stockholm in 1996 by Jonny Johansson and now has stores in Germany, Norway, France, Italy, South Korea, Japan and the United States.

In June of this year, the Swedish label teamed up with luxury e-commerce platform Mytheresa.com to create a new version of its Musubi handbag.
