Adidas stages its Underground Football Club

After the success of the 2014 edition, Adidas, in partnership with event agency Dcontract, will again feature its alternative football tournament. Ten mixed-sex teams scouted within the creative community will hit the football pitch, a truly extraordinary one at that. A huge, octagonal metallic cage inside a 3,000 m² abandoned workshop located in Saint-Ouen, Paris. The feel is very much East Berlin, think steel beams and graffiti-ed walls.

Among the teams, the fashion label Kitsuné, Berliners from the Voo Store, Italians from Toilet Paper magazine, Fubiz webzine and the Partizan production company will play it out to reach the final. DJ sets will provide the beat while bands (with gigs by La Femme and Made in Taiwan) will play into the small hours of the night.

For the occasion, British art collective Commentary Project will showcase, in partnership with the Manchester School of Art, the National Football Museum and Udk Berlin (Berlin's Arts University), a series of visuals in the shape of flags with a pared-down, contemporary design.

The Underground Football Club will kick off on Saturday September 5th from 4 pm to 2 am. Attendance will be reserved to 1,000 invited guests, while the general public will be able to win places via the event's Instagram account at instagram.com/undergroundfootballclub
