The one-hour service will be first offered to Amazon Prime members in selected postcodes in Glasgow and surrounding areas. Customers can choose between a one-hour delivery option for £6.99, or free delivery within a choice of two-hour, same-day delivery slots.

“Prime Now is our fastest delivery option ever and we are delighted to bring it to Scotland. From today, Prime customers in Glasgow can get the items they need quickly delivered right to the door in under an hour,” said Jason Weston, director of Amazon’s Prime Now service in the UK.

The e-tailer launched the Prime Same Day service in Glasgow and Edinburgh last year.

Prime Now is now available to more than 30% of the UK population following the London launch in June 2015 and the service has spread rapidly to Birmingham, Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Portsmouth, South Yorkshire, Surrey and surrounding areas.
