Stanley Lee, sales manager of the Korean brand Three Dog Night (TDN) was optimistic about finding resellers and wholesalers to promote the brand in Europe and in the US at the show. This brand’s products made of cotton, cow leather and scuba diving suit material, are designed in Japan and produced in China and Vietnam.

The participants of the fair were optimistic about the future of the economy of China as well as the rest of Asia. Cashmere World, the only trade fair dedicated to luxury fine fibers was attended by over 30 exhibitors. Whereas Fashion Access witnessed a lot of participation from South America and Brazil and had three exhibitors from Franca, Brazil including Opananken. Colombian company El Jardin del Cielo also enjoyed buyers’ attention at the Fashion Access fair.

Buyers like MetroCity from Korea; I.T Apparels, French Connection and Li & Fung from Hong Kong; Names.RU, Marmalato and PJSC Melon Fashion Group from Russia; Abahouse from Japan; Zalora from Singapore; The Sak Brand Group from the US and Le Cashmere and Hircus from the UK attended the fair.

Seminars were also conducted to discuss modern consumer trends. “Quality, durability, fit, workmanship and authenticity rather than price are the criteria that Chinese consumers value when purchasing fashion items. China’s consumers are more value conscious than price conscious. Price is not the dealmaker like it is in other markets,” said Jane Singer of Indie Fashion at one such seminar.

The Best of APLF Awards (BOAA) ceremony was also held along with the trade show. The winners included felt bag manufacturer Shanghai Legend International, Russian handbags designer Bags Business Limited, Italian footwear manufacturer LSR International and Chinese company Ningbo Consinee Woolen Textile.
