Its Sunset Walk sector will now undergo a £10m refurbishment to turn it into a premium quarter. Hermes has already received planning consent for the project, which will be designed by Rawls and feature new white Emperador marble flooring, ceilings, bespoke hexagon pendant lighting and large glazed entrances to north and south of Sunset Walk.

Sunset Walk will also get a new "visual identifier," a bespoke mesh kite sculpture, created by Locker Group. The refurbishment is expected to finish in late October and will create a contemporary environment for premium brands. Among the new brands on Sunset Walk are Jigsaw, Hobbs, Joules, White Stuff, The White Company and Pandora. This spring will also see Kiehl's open at Sunset Walk.

Ed Sellick, Asset Manager at Hermes Investment Management, commented: "These works are only one part of a five-year investment programme for Centre:mk and demonstrate our ambitious vision and commitment to maintaining the centre's status as the region's leading retail destination. Sunset Walk already has a strong reputation amongst some of the UK's most highly regarded premium brands, and our plans are set to further increase its appeal."

Centre:MK also stated its Q1 sales were up 2% year-on-year.
