Clarks has become the latest retailer to take the resale route to sustainability. The UK footwear giant has partnered with resale collective Dotte, the UK’s circular peer-to-peer marketplace where parents can buy, sell, donate and recycle outgrown children’s clothing and accessories.

Under the partnership, Clarks’ customers will be rewarded with a 15% discount voucher to spend on its website for reselling its branded children’s outgrown shoes.

The process allows customers selling an item on the Dotte platform to be gifted with money off the brand’s new stock “as a ‘thank you’ for keeping their garments in circulation, in turn reducing waste and minimising the impact of fast fashion by extending the lifespan of the brand’s garments”.

The move furthers Clarks’ eco credentials having launched its sustainability platform ‘Every More Matters’ this year,  a scheme “to protect our planet and support global communities for the world ahead”.

Clarks said the tie with Dotte, “represents a new phase of the sustainability journey, launching new commitments and making sure they do everything possible to protect our precious planet and support global communities for the world ahead.

“We’re excited to now close the loop further and offer both our communities a quick and easy solution for their outgrown Clarks kids’ shoes”, it said.
