Dior has launched a new pop-up boutique in Los Angeles. The retail location, located one block from Dior’s current Rodeo Drive store, will exclusively carry Dior’s creative Lady Art collaborative collection.

Instead of Dior’s usual offerings, the store will focus exclusively on Dior’s Lady Art collection, launched in early November. The French fashion house tapped seven contemporary artists to put a fresh spin on Dior’s Lady Dior handbag, along with scarves, key chains, and cardholders.

The new location, which used to house a Bulgari flagship, features a limestone façade and a three-story glass billboard tower. Prior to Los Angeles, the pop-up experience was open in Miami for a run at Art Basel and will head to London, China, Dubai, and then Paris after its time in Los Angeles.

Artist Marc Quinn placed shimmering blue irises on the luxe handbag. Photographer Matthew Porter created an automobile-inspired design. Daniel Gordan riffed off Dior’s use of mink fur for an eccentric graphic print. British artists Mat Collishaw and Jason Martin created nature-inspired creations for the historic house.

The Lady Dior bag was first launched in 1995, created in reference to the Napoleon III chairs Christian Dior used to seat his guests during his golden years as a fashion designer. The bag was initially called “Chouchou”, but was renamed after Princess Diana fell in love with the purse at a Paris showroom.

The Lady Dior store, located at 309 N Rodeo Dr in Beverly Hills, will be open from now until the end of March.
