After accelerating its retail expansion, Dirk Bikkembergs is now working on expanding its offer, a necessary phase to accompany the strong momentum given to the network of its own stores.

Since the beginning of September, the couture sports brand, founded in 1989 by Belgian couturier Dirk Bikkembergs and acquired by Italian group Zeis Excelsa in 2011, is multiplying its licenses.

The brand has just signed an agreement with the Bologna-based company Tichebox, specialised in travel wear, whose clients include Tommy Hilfiger, K-Way, Napapijri, Etiqueta Negra and Lacoste, to produce and distribute leather bags and accessories.

The 4-year license agreement concerns the development of a line of bags, attaché cases, small leather goods, travel bags and suitcases on wheels which will be distributed as of June 2015, the house stated in a press release. It plans to present the first collection during the menswear Fashion Week in Milan in January.

At the beginning of October, Dirk Bikkembergs announced another partnership with Como-based weaver Canepa, renowned for the very high quality of its silk fabrics. The license agreement focuses on the design, production and distribution of fabric accessories for men and for women, such as foulards and scarves.

The brand, with a turnover of 75 million euros (121 million euros for the entire Zeis Excelsa group, which also owns other marks) is also considering branching out into perfumes and watches.
