Fendi has opened an Italian café on the fifth floor of Harrods as part of an exclusive summer takeover at the Knightsbridge store.

Designed by LA-based artist Joshua Vides, the space replaces The Brompton Deli with FF graphics in black and white, creating a striking backdrop for Instagrammers and social media influencers.

Visitors can enjoy a selection of Italian food, from capuccino breakfasts to filled focaccias for lunch. There will be also mains of antipasti, insalate, lasagne, aubergine parmigiana and more, Harrods said.

But the café is only one of several takeovers Fendi is staging throughout the high-end department store this summer.

The famous Harrods windows have also been given the Fendi treatment with Vides’ black-and-white graphics, and on the ground floor a Peekaboo Bar has opened to allow customers to personalise a made-to-order Peekaboo bag.

Presented in an exhibition space, the pop-up shop offers customers the option to pick and mix three different elements to make their Peekaboo bag unique. The body, handle and strap can be completely customised, with 20 different iterations of the body available as well as 25 variations for the handle and seven for the strap.

The Peekaboo Bar will remain open until 28 July, while the Fendi Caffe will continue until 31 August.
