Focus Brands has announced the launch of a new collection for the Italian ellesse label featuring the art of Keith Haring. Part of the brand’s AW23 offer, the collection is a “fashion fusion of ellesse’s classic fits with Keith Haring’s instantly recognisable art, bringing together two 80s legends”.

ellesse is owned by Pentland but Focus has held the UK license for the past decade-and-a-half.

The new offer includes casual separates in seasonal tones of brown and cream, “with a pop of detail from Keith Haring’s catalogue of iconic work”.

There are mix-and-match joggers and shorts, T-shirts, hoodies, and sweatshirts, “in relaxed fits and comfort fabrics that are perfect for cooler months”. Alongside the apparel pieces there’s a small selection of accessories including hats, a backpack, and trainers, also featuring Haring’s artwork, to offer “that pop of detail”.

Keith Haring, an artist whose work is inextricably linked to the urban street culture of the 1980s, was inspired by graffiti artists. He has become a favourite reference point for fashion brands in recent years.

Jennie Bianco Head of UK Marketing at Focus Brands said: “Working with such a significant figure from 80s pop culture is the perfect partnership for the ellesse brand, which also made its name in the 80s streetwear scene.”

The partnership was facilitated by Artestar, a global licensing agency and creative consultancy representing high-profile artists, photographers, designers, and creatives.

Part of the JD Group, Focus Brands’ wider roster of labels includes Nautica, Nautica Competition, Yogi, Peter Werth, Farah Footwear, Patrick and Avirex.
