Former L'Oréal exec Marc Toulemonde appointed president of Puig's Derma division

Catalan fashion and cosmetics group Puig has appointed Marc Toulemonde as president of its Derma division. Marc Toulemonde, who will take up his position on June 1, and will work under the direction of President and CEO Marc Puig, and will also be a member of Puig's executive committee.

Marc Toulemonde has been with the L'Oréal group for over 20 years. Since November 2020 he has been director of digital and marketing for L'Oréal USA and prior to that he was president of L'Oréal's dermatological beauty division for North America.

Marc Toulemonde succeeds Hervé Lesieur, who, after 12 years in management positions at Uriage, Apivita and Puig's dermatological division, will leave the group at the end of 2023.

"Marc Toulemonde will focus on developing the skin care category, a key pillar of Puig's growth strategy. Based in Paris, he will be responsible for the Uriage and Apivita brands, both of which will be integrated into Puig's portfolio in 2021, within the Derma division. The two brands have been part of the Puig family business since 2011 and 2017 respectively. Laboratoires Dermatologiques d'Uriage harnesses the benefits of Uriage Thermal Water, while Apivita is the first Greek company to be B Corp certified," Puig Group said in a statement.

In 2022, the Derma Puig division recorded a 20% growth to represent 9% of the turnover, which reached 3.62 billion euros in 2022. Puig's portfolio includes the brands Carolina Herrera, Paco Rabanne, Jean Paul Gaultier, Byredo, Penhaligon's, and L'Artisan Parfumeur.
