With Frasers Group’s key commitment to “investing in high street retail” the company has appointed a new director to further its commercial real estate ambitions. Anouska Kapur has joined the Frasers Group board as a non-executive director, bringing with her “independent legal expertise” in commercial property.

Kapur is a partner at law firm Child & Child, which specialises in "high-value real estate”.

Frasers Group’s non-executive chairman David Daly said: “Anouska’s expertise in real estate will be a vital asset to the board as we continue to invest in the high street as part of our elevation strategy.

“Anouska’s [independent legal expertise] will be invaluable in maintaining our regulatory compliance and appropriate standards of corporate governance”.

The group has certainly been one of the leading lights in its commitment to "elevating high street retail" since the sector was devastated by both the pandemic and the continuing rise of e-commerce shopping.

While its key brand Sports Direct has embarked on a retail push and a store remodelling programme, its star fashion brand Flannels has also opened a raft of flagship stores this year, now operating a portfolio of over 55 stores across the UK.
