Jacadi sets sites on global expansion

Jacadi continues its conquest of new markets. The children's wear brand owned by the IDGroup is about to invest in Tunisia and Poland. And as FashionMag Premium announced last July, the label is opening two stores in London.

The brand operates 160 stores internationally in 40 countries and has also formed a partnership with the American department store Bloomingdales. This winter Jacadi will try out a corner in the chain's New York store, expanding the activity to 50 stores if the trial proves successful. With turnover in 2012 expected to reach 130 million euros, Jacadi currently earns almost half of its sales outside of France.

To intensify its international development, the brand is looking to new product segments such as its pre-teen Jacadi Mademoiselle line launched in winter 2011 and now distributed in 52 stores worldwide. Shoes is another such new area, for which Jacadi opened their first store entirely dedicated to footwear last June in Paris on the Rue Tronchet. "Since our acquisition, we repositioned ourselves so as not to age with our customers, even if the traditional baby gift is still an important part of sales," said Fabienne Mesnier, director of sales and marketing.
