Italian apparel retailer OVS has announced a collaboration with Jean Paul Gaultier, following those with Elio Fiorucci, Costume National, Matthew Williamson, Kristina Ti and Alberto Aspesi.

The French couturier will design a capsule collection that will be available "from mid-November in a selection of OVS stores and on the OVS e-shop," the two partners stated in a press release.

The collection, called 'Jean Paul Gaultier for OVS', will consist of about sixty ready-to-wear items and accessories for men and women.

It is not the first time that Jean Paul Gaultier will be working on this kind of collaboration. Last year he joined forces with Japan's top distribution group, Seven & I Holdings, to launch the 'Jean Paul Gaultier for Sept Premières' capsule collection.

He also designed a backpack collection for Eastpak.  At the end of 2015, Gaultier worked with Beth Ditto, the former leader of US band The Gossip, creating a limited edition tee-shirt.

The Italian low-cost apparel retailer, listed on the Milan Stock Exchange since March 2015, is keen to acquire an international dimension. The new collaboration with the famous Parisian designer is expected to boost its visibility.

The group is present chiefly in Italy with 900 stores, and it produces and sells cheap men's, women's and children's clothing. It belongs to the department store group Coin, which in turn is owned by the BC Partners investment fund.
