Johanna Konta signs up as Radley brand ambassador
Radley London is continuing to raise its profile via a series of celebrity marketing links and after naming Poldark star Eleanor Tomlinson as its brand face last autumn, it has now announced that British number one women’s tennis player Johanna Konta has signed on too.
She’ll front the latest Radley Spirit campaign as we head towards the summer and Wimbledon fortnight so her profile will be extra-high in the next few months.
From June, the premium accessories brand will also offer a Johanna Konta Edit, a curated collection of pieces from the SS19 collection to include the Johanna Konta Tote Bag. Making the most of her sports focus, it’s an athleisure bag with an interior made from nylon fabric.
The Edit also includes a number of other new pieces such as the Selby Street Punch Medium Flapover Crossbody, Arlington Court Medium Zip Top Backpack, the Haven Street Patchwork Medium Flapover Crossbody and the Alba Place Camera Small Zip Around Crossbody bags, alongside additional designs that will be dropping in August and September.
The company’s chief brand officer Julia Darlington said Konta is a “natural fit for both the brand and the campaign, which is inspired by women who live life on their own terms, with the passion and drive to make things happen - whether independent, bold, playful, fierce or fun.”
Radley also said that a percentage of sales from the new Alba Place Camera bag will go to Centrepoint, the UK's leading youth homelessness charity of which Konta is a patron.
