The Harvard Business Review has just released its 2015 list of the 100 top-performing CEOs in the world.

HBR's CEO ranking is meant to be "a measure of enduring success" and tracks and analyzes each CEO’s performance, starting from day one of his or her tenure. It was previously based entirely on hard stock market numbers, but now takes into account each company’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance.

HBR's ranking excluded people who had been in the job for less than two years and any executive who had been arrested or convicted of a crime. In total, it looked at 907 CEOs.

The highest-scoring retail or beauty executive was Inditex' Pablo Isla, in third place. L Brands' Leslie Wexner came in 11th place and Mark Parker, of Nike, in 21st. The other retail and beauty names on the list are Simon Wolfons, Next (28), Tadashi Yanai, Fast Retailing (35), Blake Nordstrom, Nordstrom (38), Herbert Hainer, adidas (41), Bernard Arnault*, Christian Dior (44), Fabrizio Freda, Estée Lauder (53), Jean-Paul Agon, L'Oréal (55), Terry Lundgren, Macy's (56), Glenn Chamandy, Gildan Activewear (73), Jeffrey Bezos, Amazon (87) and W. Galen Weston, George Weston (89).

The lack of women in top positions in large companies was evident in the list, which featured just two women in the top 100.

*Bernard Arnault is also the CEO of the LVMH group, of which Dior is a holding, but the brands were looked at individually.
