Calvin Klein has unveiled the global television campaign for its new fragrance, 'Calvin Klein Women,' starring Lupita Nyong'o and Saoirse Ronan.

In the clip, which was directed by artist Anne Collier, Lupita Nyong'o and Saoirse Ronan, who were announced as the faces of the perfume's print campaign last month, can be seen discussing the powerful women who inspired them creatively.

For Ronan, this means talking about her admiration for the actress and singer Sissy Spacek and the legendary musician Nina Simone, whose record she can be seen playing. Nyong'o, meanwhile, is filmed putting together a collage of photographs featuring singer Eartha Kitt and Hollywood star Katharine Hepburn, while working on a script.

The campaign focuses on the multiple facets of femininity, with Ronan telling the camera, "You can be whatever type of woman you want to be."

"You can be an individual but still be a part of something bigger than yourself," confirms Nyong'o.

"In this campaign, Anne Collier brings to life a powerful narrative of confidence and self-expression, celebrating the profound inspiration women draw from one another," said Calvin Klein's Chief Creative Officer, Raf Simons. "The support of this bond empowers a great sense of freedom."

The perfume, which is the first scent to be launched by the house since Simons took over the reins at the US lifestyle brand, features notes of fresh eucalyptus acorns, orange flower petals and Alaskan cedarwood, for a woody, floral finish. It comes packaged in a traditional, weighted glass bottle with a disc-shaped cap imprinted with a motif by Collier.

The fragrance will launch globally starting in August 2018.
