Manolo Blahnik launches restoration service with The Restory

Manolo Blahnik is the latest luxury name to link up with The Restory on a repair service as the concept of restoring luxury goods, rather than throwing them away and replacing them, becomes increasingly popular.

Partnering with the aftercare specialist is a first for a single luxury brand with initiatives so far having come from multibrand retailers such as Selfridges, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, FarFetch and Browns.

The restoration services on offer include basics such as new soles and heels or more complex work like total restoration and dyeing.

It’s part of a wider trend that puts circularity to the fore and tries to make fashion less of a ‘throwaway’ industry.

Both the aftercare and resale markets are growing fast. This marks a complete turnaround from just a decade ago when the focus was on having the latest and newest items.

The Mend My Manolos service “underscores Manolo Blahnik’s passion for superb craftsmanship, unrivalled creativity and timeless elegance,” the shoemaker said. “The Restory’s superior aftercare will extend the longevity of your most beloved Manolos. By investing in an in-house team of next generation artisans, The Restory is combining the art of craft and the power of technology to make sure our loved items last.”

The service can be booked in-store or online with a quote sent by email.
