He’ll report directly to Antonio Jové, Marcolin’s Head of EMEA.

Hinkerode has led Marcolin Deutschland since 2016 and the company said he “has a strong background in the eyewear industry”, including past responsibility for the development of prestigious luxury brands in the segment.

The aim of the move is to strengthen the company's presence in the UK and Scandinavian markets as well as the DACH region, “creating new synergies between these key European markets and reinforcing Marcolin’s commitment to be the best partner and offer the best service to its customers”.

Despite appointing a single head of the group of countries, the individual markets will maintain their current local reference points and offices in London, Stockholm and Cologne “for continuity and an efficient operative business”.

The company has 14 subsidiaries globally in total, in Europe (Benelux, DACH, France, Italy, Nordics, Spain, UK), Russia, America (US, Brazil), Asia (Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore) and Australia (Sidney), plus two joint ventures (Mexico and UAE).
