The animated films of Walt Disney have always been of great interest to designers. For this year’s winter festive season, it is Mary Katrantzou’s turn to enter the world of one such film, namely Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, with a capsule collection that will retail exclusively at Colette from November 20.

“Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs belongs, unquestionably, to pop-culture and each dwarf expresses one aspect of human emotion. This collection is a reinterpretation of these iconic characters in today’s world,” explained the London designer.

Katrantzou has created t-shirts, jumpers, dresses, and sequined bomber jackets, all embroidered with the famous little characters, including Doc, Sneezy, and Happy, from the animated film which celebrates its 80th anniversary this year. The colourful, glittery garments are faithful to Katrantzou’s rich design aesthetic.

When it arrives at the boutique, the collection will be accompanied by a window display at the Paris concept store which will include a video, remaining on display until November 25. Afterwards, the collection will also be available to shop on Colette’s e-commerce store.

In recent weeks, brands including Chanel, Sacai, Glossier, and Alanui have been putting on back-to-back, one-off events at Colette, livening up the concept store before its final closure on December 20.
