Fashion trade show Moda will be putting an extra boost behind footwear for the edition that takes place from February 23 to 25 next year.

Moda is putting a big boost behind its footwear event for February

The AW20 show’s organiser, ITE Group, said leading distributors including GRS Footwear and other UK Distributors will showcase a number of brands. And popular labels including Alpe, Marco Tozzi, HB Shoes, ARA, Rohde, Salamander, Tamaris, Caprice, Moda in Pelle, Fly London, Peter Kaiser, S.Oliver, Jana, EMU Australia, Keddo, Young Soles, Laura Vita, as well as LJ&R Footwear, are all confirmed for the event. The show takes place at the NEC in Birmingham.

Lisa Govier, Footwear Director of the National Footwear Show at Moda, said: “We have taken a number of big steps to improve the footwear offer. As the UK’s national footwear show and with a new team on board, February 2020 will showcase new halls, a new layout, a refreshed, cleaner shell scheme and a host of leading footwear brands and distributors.”

The company also moved its dates to avoid clashing with Micam, which Govier said “has been really well-received, and as sponsors we’re also delighted to coincide with the Footwear Awards making Moda the number one destination for the footwear industry.”

The organiser previously launched its speed-networking and buyer acquisition programmes for the show and these continue next season, while being taken “to the next level by introducing Moda Match.”  The dedicated buyer acquisition team “will help facilitate introductions between brands and retailers to ensure we deliver superb ROI for our exhibitors – and introduce buyers to exciting new brands that may not be on their radar.”

February will also see a bigger catwalk and a major focus on “inspirational content featuring big name speakers and industry experts adding value and interest,” we’re told.

Exhibitor Martin Rye, who’s MD of GRS Footwear, said the event “remains the most important trade show in the calendar for Lunar Shoes and the one national show that unites the brands with good quality retailers. For Lunar, Moda signals the start of the selling season and is the only show where we take orders for the whole three-day duration, from both new and existing customers.

“The central location of the NEC is key for our Scottish and Irish retailers who are able to fly into the show and see all of their key suppliers under one roof.”
