Following the launch of the Brand Approved programme by French resale specialist Vestiaire Collective, Mulberry has become the latest label to sign up.

The offer clearly appeals to UK-based labels with Alexander McQueen having been the debut brand that launched Vestiaire Collective’s new service earlier this year.

Mulberry is Britain's biggest leather goods designer and maker and said that the new link-up is “an important step forward in our ambition to provide a fully circular product offering, and to see our collections passed down from generation to generation.”

The company already had a resale offer available in the UK through the Mulberry Exchange programme that it unveiled early last year. But the Vestiaire Collective connection means it will put its pre-loved product in front of a much wider range of people globally.

As with Alexander McQueen, the Mulberry products have their own Brand Approved page on Vestiaire Collective (starting on Monday, March 15) with each of the bags having been authenticated and spruced-up by the label’s own artisans in Britain. The initial offer includes some rare and limited-edition pieces.

Mulberry CEO Thierry Andretta, said: “Mulberry was founded in 1971 with a Made to Last ethos at the heart of both our design and manufacturing philosophy, and it continues to guide us today. When we launched the Mulberry Exchange last year, we received an extremely positive reaction from our customers. Through this partnership with Vestiaire Collective, we are extending that offer through their innovative business model, supporting the availability of truly sustainable luxury choices for Mulberry’s global community.”
