The best shopping day in June was Saturday, June 17, the day before Father’s Day. Sales, traffic, shopper yield, and transactions all peaked on that day, but were not enough to lift the month’s sales results. In addition, conversion was highest on Friday, June 16.

Sales and traffic fell in all regions, but sales fell slightly by 3.6% in the Western US compared to 8.1% in the Northeastern US, and traffic fell sharpest in the Midwest by 10.3%.

Traffic improved throughout the month, and conversion and shopper yield were positive beginning in the second week, while net sales and transactions improved throughout the month but remained in the negative.

In addition, when compared to last year, June sales fell by 0.1% but traffic increased to -8.3% from -8.9%.
