A day after Moncler announced that it's buying Stone Island, we've learned that menswear designer Christopher Ræburn is going to reinvigorate two labels originally launched over 25 years ago by Stone Island founder Massimo Osti.

The Left Hand and ST95 brands have been acquired by UK-based Left Hand Studios Limited and it will relaunch both for AW21.

They were formed in the mid-1990s, using the technical insights Osti derived from his Stone Island and CP Company labels.

But now they’ll be reborn for the 2020s under the creative direction of Ræburn, who’s based at the RÆBURN Lab in East London.

So what are brand profiles? Left Hand has always had a focus on newly developed materials and the AW21 collection will feature jackets, liners and jersey, all in keeping with the “original aesthetic yet evolved for the fashion landscape of today”.

Meanwhile, ST95 was known for its sporty appeal, focusing on a younger audience than Left Hand. It’s being “reimagined” for AW21 “with a still youthful but responsibly-minded, customer in mind”.

The company said the label “will be forward-thinking with a nod to the brand’s original roots, executed in an unexpected and contemporary way”.

We’ll see the brands for the first time via a “hand-picked, select number of international retailers in February 2021”.
