Sephora has just signed an agreement with Indian group Arvind, which will now lead the store and e-commerce expansion in India for the selective perfumery retailer belonging to the LVMH group.
Arvind, which is also in charge of Gap's expansion in the country, is planning forty Sephora store openings in five years, The Times Of India has reported.
Having entered the Indian market four years ago through a partnership with the Genesis Luxury group, then with DLF Brands, the French retailer now numbers three stores in India.
"In the last decade, Sephora has opened 200 stores in China. In the long term, India could turn out to be a comparable market," Olivier Schaeffer, Sephora's Global COO, stated to The Times Of India.
