Show organiser UBM appoints Pierre-Nicolas Hurstel as Executive Vice-President
US show organiser UBM, which manages trade fairs such as Coterie, Magic and Project, has gone for strong expertise in B2B events in its quest to develop new formats. From this month, Pierre-Nicolas Hurstel has in fact joined UBM's ranks, taking on the new position of Executive Vice-President in charge of strategy and development.
Hurstel gained valuable experience in management consulting, as the co-founder of several firms such as Blue Change, before joining French show organiser Eurovet, specialised in professional events for the textile, lingerie and swimwear industries. In January 2013, Eurovet put Hurstel in charge of its US subsidiary, which produces the Curve New York and Las Vegas and the Interfilière New York shows.
In January 2016, Hurstel also took on the role of Head of Digital and Innovation at Eurovet, notably spearheading the project for the launch of a dedicated exhibitor website. UBM was clearly attracted by his strategic outlook on the innovation needed in the trade show industry.
Hurstel’s mission will be to create new projects for UBM, specifically designed to establish new B2B relationships, and to envisage innovative event formats in response to the current and future requirements of the fashion industry.
