The debate around whether physical shops have a future may be continuing, but upscale menswear brand Simon Carter clearly thinks they do have a future. The label will be opening a new flagship store in London when non-essential stores are allowed to open again.

It will be the fifth London store for the company, which is best known for its colourfully patterned ‘formal’ shirts. It will open in ‘Connaught Village', the luxury enclave that's part of the Hyde Park estate. It will be the label’s largest store so far and will cover two levels at number 20 Connaught Street.

CEO and founder Simon Carter said: “I’m delighted to be opening my new flagship shop on Connaught Street, in the heart of London’s historic Connaught Village. It will give me an opportunity to showcase my brand and my full collection of menswear and accessories.

“As a heritage brand with a strong London heritage, this is the perfect location with its mix of individual and unique shops and restaurants”.

The neighbourhood is known for its mix of high-end and independent labels. The line-up in the area currently includes names such as The Place London, The Dresser, Rita Westenius, Lucy Choi London, Cashmirino, Duncan & Namara, Eliza Jane Howell, Kokoro London, and a number of hair and beauty salons, among other lifestyle stores.
