Spreadshirt, a German print-on-demand t-shirt e-commerce platform, plans to make US growth a priority this year as it announces a year-on-year growth rate of nearly 9%.

The e-tailer said the increase was supported by the reorganisation of the business into three commercial units, which will provide a foundation for growth in the US.

Whilst Germany took the lead as the most active selling region in 2016, the US followed closely. Overall, Spreadshirt shipped to over 150 countries last year and printed over four million items. There are currently more than 70,000 partners selling their ideas through the platform.

“Our focus on mobile, the reorganization into commercial units and strategic investment into the Spreadshirt platform technology, were all top priorities for 2016. Revenue numbers confirm that our approach is working,” said CEO Philip Rooke.

“The grand plan for 2017 includes making the US market a priority, focusing on our partner business, and striving to make our sellers millionaires – for sustained business relevancy and growth.”
