Headline events addressing conservation at Texworld USA include a screening of RiverBlue, a documentary film following river conservationist Mark Angelo as he infiltrates the fashion industry and reveals its role in the destruction of rivers around the globe. A panel entitled “Microplastics: the hidden problem with polyester” has also been confirmed and will be led by Sourcing Journal’s Arthur Friedman, Malvina Hoxha from Lenzing Fibers, Okeo-Tex’s Trish Martin and Kristen Kern from the American Footwear & Apparel Foundation.

Texworld Art Directors Louis Gerin and Gregory Lamaud will once again curate the Texworld Showcase, highlighting trends for the upcoming autumn/winter 2019-20 season, as well as a series of vignettes based around the theme “The Art of Customization – Findings, Trims and Accessories” to be displayed in the Apparel Sourcing USA’s Spotlight area.

The Textile Talk Series is also returning to Texworld this July, with confirmed speakers currently including fashion law expert Shahrina Ankhi-Krol from Ankhi-Krol Law and StartUp Fashion founder Nicole Giordino, who will make a presentation about e-mail marketing.

“Attendees can look forward to topics that will keep them on the cusp of what is happening in our ever-evolving industry,” said Show Director Jennifer Bacon in a release. “Our seminars and Textile Talks are perfect for anyone no matter their level in the business.”

The Explore the Floor guided tour series has also been expanded and will offer attendees the opportunity to discover both shows in the company of industry insiders, including founder and CEO of ethical fashion brokers Thr3efold, Jessica Kelly, and Texworld USA industry expert Eileen Small.

Embellishment expert Jana Platina Phipps (aka the Trim Queen) will also lead a tour, as well as a trim activation and a passementerie workshop.

Texworld USA and Apparel Sourcing USA will take place alongside Home Textiles Sourcing Expo from July 23 through 25, 2018 at the Javits Convention Center, New York.
