We hear a lot about retailer apps developed for consumers to use, but this week, German clothing company Tom Tailor has launched a B2B app to support its wholesale customers.

Tech solutions are an increasingly large part of both the D2C and wholesale offer across the fashion sector and the firm’s trading partners can now “access the entire assortment of the B2B-Shop directly while being on the sales floor,” the company said.

It unveiled the in-house-developed app at the Panorama event in Berlin on Tuesday and said the “digital service offer simplifies and improves the efficiency of the ordering process for trading partners in the wholesale segment considerably and [is an] extension of the Tom tailor B2B Online-Portal”.

So what are its specific benefits? Wholesale customers can scan the barcodes of the respective articles via mobile to check inventory and also immediately see the availability of sizes and colours in the B2B-Shop. Reordering can happen directly through the app. There’s also a full-text search of the entire brand assortment for quick ordering.

And customers can see new products and promotions clearly called out.

Although it’s only available in German during the current start-up phase, it can be used in all countries in which Tom Tailor operates.
