Luxury outdoor apparel brand Woolrich has opened its first store in Canada, at Toronto's Yorkdale Shopping Centre.

The 2,880-square-foot store occupies a single level and features an interior which reinterprets the brand's global store concept designed by Japanese architecture firm Wonderwall, under the creative direction of Masamichi Katayama. Meanwhile, the store’s exterior displays the Woolrich Buffalo Check plaid on its entire façade.

The store will house Woolrich’s men’s and women’s collections, accessories and the brand’s new footwear line.

The American brand announced earlier this year plans to expand across Canada.

“Canada is one of the most important markets for Woolrich’s expansion and growth. The opening of the Toronto store and a shop-in-shop at Sporting Life Yorkdale this fall are the first steps in this expansion,” the company said in a news statement.

The company also announced plans to open stores in Vancouver and Montreal in 2018 and 2019.

Woolrich’s grand opening at Yorkdale Shopping Centre will take place on December 7. Emma Roberts, Jaime King and Avan Jogia will be in attendance to help celebrate the grand opening.

Woolrich International was created in November 2016 through a merger between Woolrich Europe and Woolrich Inc. and has robust expansion plans. The company plans to open over 60 Woolrich stores worldwide by 2020. Three more locations, including Toronto, are set to open by the end of 2017.
