Bergdorf Goodman is close to completing its 6th floor renovations; they have detailed what is to be expected of the floor’s new look.

The 6th floor will become what they call a "designer lab" that will house emerging brands and a "Modernist" collection anchored by The Row.

"This is the first complete gut renovations we've done in decades," said Joshua Schulman, President of Bergdorf Goodman. "Six (the sixth floor) represented the best of 1980s store design." Senior Vice President of Fashion, Linda Fargo added, "You have to balance traditional and classical elements with things that are modern and still keep it warm. From a design point of view, six will be one of our most-modern floors."

Other brands and designers that will be in the Modernist collection are Donna Karan, Derek Lam, Narciso Rodriguez, Baja East, Adam Lippes, Preen, Tomas Maier and others. Shoppers will still be able to find eveningwear, lingerie and modern designer sportswear.

Shulman confirmed that the main floor’s renovations will follow and will be completed by Fall 2016.
