The swimwear fashion week, a leading event for the European industry, is committed to becoming more international. The next edition, taking place on 3-5 October, will count with the support of Ifema as its organiser.
The Madrid trade fair welcomed 15,250 visitors and over 800 exhibitors to its February edition, keeping footfall levels high despite a change of direction. International visitors accounted for 25% of the total.
The Madrid trade fair has been trying to offer a more attractive proposition since the appointment of its new director, and has put diversification, design and sustainability at the centre of the event.
The trade show, which takes place from 8 to 10 February, will debut a new format, combining fashion and footwear. 34.5% of the almost 800 exhibitors will be new brands as the event continues to focus on sustainability.
The fashion and footwear shows hosted by Ifema will open on 7-9 September, marking the beginning of a new era under the leadership of Charo Izquierdo. Changes will include more menswear, technology and sustainability.
Charo Izquierdo, director of MBFW Madrid and the fashion weeks at Ifema, including Momad Metropolis and Momad Shoes, recently arrived in the capital with the goal of creating collaborations and improving quality.
Izquierdo will combine her new responsibilities at Ifema with her role as director of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid. She succeeds Jaime de la Figura, who has been promoted to director of international expansion.
