Designer: zuhair muradatmosphere: at the potocki hotel, the designer displays his interpretation of the ‘gibson girl’, the american icon famous during the belle époque.collection: grand princess dresses showing embroidery mixing with transparency, a vintage colour palette, and textures which form delicate, light layering.focus on: the boleros and the small jackets fringed with pearls or scattered with feathers.thistles painted and embroidered with sequins.the asymmetrical ‘etson’ dress with nude shoulders, and the victorian allure seen on the sheath gathered high around the neck.to note: the pleated tulle, the breathtaking trains of the gowns, and the midi-length skirts which add a touch of timelessness.interview zuhair murad:the story of this collection is that it’s inspired by the ‘gibson girl’.i was searching the edwardian era. the edwardian era is from like 1892 to 1910, almost 20 years. the clothes were very beautiful, very special. so, at that moment, i found an illustrator, a very famous illustrator, an american one, called charles dana gibson, so the family name is gibson, who created this woman. he drew it, and then he was inspired by his woman.you will see in this collection, a lot of integrated detail, lots of refined embroidery, macramé, lace, soft material.with this collection, i tried to layer fabrics together, so you can see silk tulle with feathers, with chantilly lace, sometimes with guipure, with pearls, with sequins, with small crystals. with every dress, there is a story.music of the show (only to be used in the context of the show, under the protection of the right to information)
