Designer: roksanda ilincicinspiration: in the sublime room, the durbar court, of the foreign and commonwealth office, the designer invited the indian artist, rana begum, to present her collection among hanging coloured nets. a way to link history and modernity, while of course adding craftsmanship and colours, two essential codes of the brand.collection: fluid, graceful silhouettes pass between the nets and there are plays with textures with false leather additions on the first models. the suit is redesigned to create a new silhouette, with elegance and comfort created through different juxtapositions.voluminous silk satin or taffeta dresses in sparkling colours transport the audience into an imaginary world filled with beauty.to note: the multi-coloured knit with several thicknesses made entirely by hand. interview with roksanda ilincic:the set was an incredible art piece done by the artist rana begum and we kind of came across and started to know each other through each other’s work, we had like a mutual admiration for each other’s work. i think that very important craft and a luxury element is something that i always have in my collections and i think that it’s also something that brings incredible timelessness, i think it’s very important to make pieces timeless. i’m also known for my colour blocking and kind of modular shape in dresses, i wanted to kind of translate it onto tailoring, so tailoring can be very modular as well, so you can wear it on its own or with a gilet on the top that creates a completely different effect and a completely different colour effect and those layers and movement and motion and modularity are something that were very important for this collection. i think the dream, the beauty, something that is better than the world that we live in is very important and i think the positive energy the dreams are bringing is important not to lose in the worst possible times. music from the show (to use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information)
